Nothing is too much trouble at Wonderland Makarora Lodge, 100% recommend it to anyone. It's an excellent base for one night.- The hotel boasts a remote location close to nature.- At the main bar, they serve decent food and drinks.

We loved the tidy chalet with amazing views, equipped with useful amenities like a microwave, electric kettle, and refrigerator.

This venue is peacefully situated near the common areas, river, and mountains, delivering outstanding services.

The room was pretty nice and had great facilities. The lodge had WiFi, and even the window was working. There was a wide array of good food available. The location was comfortable and very picturesque, situated just off the mountains and close to Queenstown. It was only a 5-minute walk to Wilkin River Jets.

The hotel was located short walk to the outlet, New Zealand, and the rainforest. Everything was great, yet a few employees were so relaxed. The room was functional & great-sized, came with awesome views and ample space, for instance. The location was comfortable and handy, far too late that the restaurant had reopened. The casual restaurant onsite had light dishes

Stunning setting in the lovely area, very close to Wanaka, Hawea and hiking trails and the west coast off the road. Again, 5 minutes walk from Wilkin River Jets.

The location was peaceful, right next to a valley and a park. The hotel was a great base for enjoying a cute area. Stocked and well heated units with ample space, WiFi, for instance, and the staff were extremely helpful.

I had an amazing overnight stay at this hotel in a remote but stunning valley in New Zealand. The location was absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by beautiful forests and offering a tranquil escape from the bustling city life. The value for money was excellent, with reasonable prices for such a picturesque setting. The staff were friendly and provided excellent service, going above and beyond to ensure my comfort. The rooms were well-maintained and had all the basic amenities needed for a comfortable stay. The facilities were excellent, and the attention to detail was evident throughout. The breakfast provided was delicious, with a wide variety of options to choose from.

All was well, no improvements needed.

Nestled in a forest area, the lodges offer a tranquil setting where you can observe birds like the Kereru and the Tui. The rooms are comfortable and clean, providing a good night's sleep. Plus, there are various facilities available, such as a pool and nature walks, ensuring there's something for everyone to enjoy. The location offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, adding to the overall charm of the place.

Some guests mentioned a bit of noise from the nearby highway, but it doesn't detract from the overall experience.

Our stay at Wonderland Makarora Lodge was simply magical. The location was stunning, nestled right on the edge of the rainforest, surrounded by beautiful trees. The cabin we stayed in was spacious and clean, providing the perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. The highlight was definitely the karaoke night at the bar, adding a fun and lively atmosphere to our evening. Despite the slight discomfort of the single beds, we made do by stacking extra comforters and managed to get a decent night's sleep. I highly recommend this hidden gem for a peaceful and enchanting getaway.

Good sized and functional units with GREAT views and superfriendly staff.

Being right on the edge of the rainforest in this location felt like a true escape to nature. The hotel facilities were basic, but still provided everything I needed for a comfortable stay, including a well-equipped kitchenette. I was able to park right outside my cabin, which made unloading my bags a breeze. The location was perfect for exploring nearby Mount Aspiring National Park, and I was able to take advantage of the fantastic transportation options offered by the hotel, such as the jet boat and helicopter experiences. Lastly, the staff were friendly and always available to answer any questions I had.

There was nothing I didn't like.

The economy quadruple room was well heated and included a shower and bath sheets, and it was in a perfect and excellent location close to the restaurant / cafe and Queenstown and Franz Josef or Fox Glacier.
